Bibliomania brings you an extensive library of reference books, biographies, classic non-fiction and religious texts. We will be adding to this library regularly and are always interested in your recommendations for books. Reference Bibliomania's reference section is where you can find, in one place, fully searchable copies of your favourite language reference books, including dictionaries (Websters), books of quotations (Grocotts), books of synonyms (Soules), a thesaurus (Rogets), dictionaries of literary sources (Brewers) and linguistics (Hobson Jobson), and non-literature reference books . Biographies There is a huge interest in biographies of famous people, whether from politics, sport, culture or science. Bibliomania has made a start with the biographies of four American Presidents and several scientists, and we intend to expand this section significantly. Biographies of the literary greats can be found on the individual author pages throughout the site. Non-fiction Bibliomania brings you non-fiction books that have influenced generations: Texts range from the historical (the Diaries of Samuel Pepys, Gibbon's Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire and Clauswitz On War),through economics (Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations) to psychology (Freud's Interpretation of Dreams and Mackay's Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds). This section also features classic erotic fiction (including the Kama Sutra and the Perfumed Garden). Religious texts Bibliomania is starting a collection of texts of the World's major religions, which not only the daily lives of billions of people, but are also major works of literature in their own right. if your own religion is not yet represented please be patient: its a major undertaking for us. |
